• Accompanist (part-time): St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, Peoria, seeks an accompanist for Sunday Liturgy, seasonal services, and Thursday rehearsals. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in exploring the musical traditions and forms of worship of the Eastern Church. The typical Sunday celebration is the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, dating from the 4th century AD, and is chanted as a dialogue between clergy and choir/congregation. • Director of Music Ministry (1/2-time): Desert Palms Presbyterian Church, Sun City West. Position available September 1: $25,000–$30,000 (depending on experience and credentials) plus pension and major medical insurance, plus 10–20 memorial services and/or weddings per year as organist/pianist @ $150, depending on availability of church organist. Requirements: familiarity with Presbyterian/Reformed worship and liturgy and keyboard proficiency, preferably at both piano and organ. Overall responsibility for congregation’s music ministry, including conducting 65-voice Chancel Choir at Sunday morning services (8:30 and 10:30, September–May and 9:30, June–August) and 3–4 evening services each year, and at weekly rehearsals (2:15 to 4:00 pm Thursdays, and 7:30 to 8:15 am Sundays, September–May); directing a 4- octave Handbell Choir at weekly rehearsals and Sunday morning worship once each month (September–May); directing and managing the 20-voice Desert Palms Choral Ensemble; overseeing and scheduling men’s and women’s choirs and a Handbell Ensemble (each with volunteer directors), scheduling soloists, attending church staff meetings, participating in worship planning, providing staff support to session worship committee, and serving as organist/pianist for special services when church organist is unavailable. • Choir Accompanist: Epiphany Lutheran Church, Chandler. This position would be to serve as a rehearsal organist/pianist for the choir on Thursday evenings, and to accompany the choir on organ at all services in which the choir participates; currently this includes two Sunday morning services and one Saturday evening service each month, plus special services such as Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Holy Week, etc. The position runs from September through May. • Organist (part-time): Willowbrook United Methodist Church, Sun City. This is a part-time position of 20+ hours per week, which includes private practice time. Sanctuary Organ is a Rodgers 960 Digital Organ with nine ranks of pipes. Our organist plays for two Sunday morning worship services, October through May and one service from June through September. Organist is responsible for prelude, accompanying hymns and choir, offertory and postlude. Choir rehearsals are on Thursday evenings. We also have a Saturday afternoon worship service which is open to negotiation. Those who understand a variety of music traditions and styles appropriate for worship are desired.
