The Phoenix is rapidly rising! Our Region IX Festival 2009 will take place June 22 to 25, and our host hotel will be the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa. Thank you to our chapter Webmaster, David James, for creating the beautiful website! Many of you will want to attend the pre-Festival concert on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Faith Lutheran Church in Phoenix. In addition to solo organ works and hymn arrangements for choir, organ, and handbells, a major highlight of the concert will be Patrick Hawkins’ premiere of a new work for organ, Collage by Benjamin Lees. The composer hopes to be in attendance, and the score is to be subsequently published by Boosey & Hawkes.
